bbb torch awards

Optima Tax Relief is proud to announce that we have earned our second BBB Torch Award! This award puts the spotlight on businesses with exceptional dedication to integrity and ethical business practices.

The Torch Award is just the latest in the series of awards Optima has earned this year, including the Orange County Civic 50, Top Workplaces USA, and several Stevie Awards for best-in-class Consumer Service.

“The Torch Award, as well as the other awards we have been honored to receive this year, all stem from the uplifting, people-first culture that Optima is built upon,” said Kimberly Carson, Optima’s Director of Human Resources. “Having a supportive, nurturing environment, unified around always doing what is right, is what powers our success.”

OC Civic 50 Honor Roll

Optima Tax Relief has been named an honoree of The Civic 50 Orange County by OneOC and Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. The award recognizes Optima Tax Relief as one of the most community-minded companies in Orange County, California determined by an independently administered and scored survey. The Civic 50 Orange County initiative, modeled after Points of Light’s national program, provides a standard for superior corporate citizenship, and showcases how companies can use their time, skills, and resources to drive social impact in their company and communities.

The Civic 50 Orange County honorees were officially recognized at the OneOC Civic 50 Orange County Virtual Reception on September 28th, 2021.

“Our company has always been committed to investing in our community, both in and out of the office,” Christine Bui, chief customer officer, said. “Instilling awareness and establishing an efficient path to a charitable lifestyle in our employees is not only rewarding, but necessary; especially during the pandemic.”

Bui refers to the Optima employee benefits package—which includes Volunteer Time Off to make giving back during business hours fiscally possible for staff. With 20 hours a year to devote to local nonprofits, community engagement continues to soar as the company grows.

“We are so proud to be recognized as one of the most community-minded companies in OC for the fourth year in a row,” CEO David King said. “It was truly remarkable to witness the way our team was able to pivot, and match the increasing need for assistance in our community as a result of the pandemic.”

“OneOC is honored to work in partnership with Points of Light to celebrate the most community-minded companies in Orange County, “said Jessi Midstokke, community and corporate development director. Our mission at OneOC is to accelerate nonprofit success and we strongly believe that our corporate community is key to accomplishing this. Our collaboration strengthens not only our mission but enhances the longevity and sustainability of our community.”

The Civic 50 Orange County survey is administered by True Impact, a company specializing in helping organizations maximize and measure their social and business value and consists of quantitative and multiple-choice questions that inform scoring process.

Optima Tax Relief’s Endorsers

Optima has been fortunate to have been endorsed by many prominent personalities from a wide range of backgrounds, including:

Mark Levin

Host of the radio program The Mark Levin Show, Levin is a lawyer, author, and former Reagan Administration staffer (serving in the Department of Education and the Department of the Interior before becoming chief of staff for Attorney General Edwin Meese). In addition to his nationally syndicated radio show, Levin also hosts the Fox News TV show Life, Liberty & Levin.

Darrell Ward

Darrell Ward was already a well-established and successful professional trucker when the producers of the hit TV show Ice Road Truckers asked him to join the cast. Living by his motto of “Any road, any load,” Darrell quickly became a fan favorite, displaying a wonderful heart and an infectious zeal for life as he tackled everything the frozen, forbidding roads threw at him. But when a real-life IRS problem threatened to derail him, Darrell turned to Optima. “Thirty-two years of driving deadly roads has taught me that experience matters,” said Darrell. “Icy roads, white outs, I can handle that. Negotiating with the IRS… I didn’t want to tackle that on my own. I wanted to have the best tax professionals on my case. That’s why I hired Optima.”

Rush Limbaugh

Best known as the host of The Rush Limbaugh Show, Limbaugh has long been one of the most-listened-to radio personalities in the U.S. Launching his show nationally in 1988, he commands a weekly audience of over 15 million listeners and has been inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the Radio Hall of Fame.

Alan Thicke

Optima is forever grateful to the late, great Alan Thicke. As our first national spokesman, Alan’s grace, integrity, and compassion made him the perfect fit, reflecting the core values Optima was founded upon. In addition to being our spokesmen par excellence, Alan also wrote our company’s theme song – a song proudly featured in our commercials to this day. A true gentleman in every sense of the word, Alan is forever loved and greatly missed by us, here at Optima.

Optima Tax Relief Helps Foster Children have a Very Merry Christmas

Optima Tax Relief, LLC teamed up with the Orangewood Children’s Foundation to sort and organize
hundreds of gift donations for the holiday season.

January 9, 2012–In December, Optima Tax Relief, LLC teamed up with the Orangewood Children’s Foundation and assisted with sorting and organizing gift donations for the holiday season.

Many members of Optima’s staff volunteered to help sort through hundreds of donations ranging from
kid’s toys to clothing and shoes. Some helped unload truckloads full of donated bikes and other gift
donations while others worked with Orangewood to fulfill personalized wish lists for families in need.
Volunteers also had a chance to bake cookies and chili for the foster youth.

In a letter from the Orangewood Children’s Foundation, Chief Executive Officer, Cal Winslow says, “Your
commitment to helping us provide for the needs of children, youth and families in our community is
very much appreciated.”

This is the first year Optima has participated in a volunteer event and although volunteering was
optional, employee participation was very high. Optima also made a monetary contribution to the
Orangewood Children’s Foundation and plans on finding additional ways to give back to the community
with participating in similar events each year.

“Here at Optima Tax Relief, we understand the importance of giving back to the Community where we
can. We are very proud to be a part of such an important mission and look forward to working with
Orangewood Foundation again,” says Harry Langenberg, one of the Managing Partners of Optima Tax

The Orangewood Children’s Foundation’s goal is to help eliminate the neglect and abuse of children in
Orange County, California. The foundation works to accomplish this on four main fronts: strengthening
families to prevent abuse from occurring in the first place, protecting children from abusive homes from
physical and emotional violence, emancipating teens from abusive families, and promoting enhanced
public awareness of the challenges faced by children raised in such damaging environments. This last
goal has been the area in which important partners like Optima Tax Relief have been able to do the most
good for the foundation’s kids.
